Dulux Wash&Wear 1

Wash&Wear under the brand Dulux is one of most commonly used wall paints. As a professional painter, it is not easy to assess it while it is being frequently used either due to habitual behavior or customer request. Let me make a brief analysis on this paint from the perspective of customers.

To begin with, it is supposed to be water-proof as from time to time we need to remove taints or marks using wet cloth. Then, it needs to cling on the wall firmly in case of pealing when exposed to hand moving or rubbing. Also, we wish it could reach a good balance between hardness and crispness so as to last longer. In addition, no fainting within at least 5 years.

However, a professional painter would take much more into account. Apart from stuff I mentioned above, we hope it is neither thin nor thick as either of them would result in difficulties in applying paints to the wall surface. At the same time, it has good ability to cover, since paints without enough pigment will place us into such an embarrassing situation. Moreover, shorter time to dry out could save us a lot of resource to finish a task. It is normal to add two coats at the same day while ensuring quality. Therefore, a kind of dry-out-fast paint is certainly expected. Another consideration is the smell of paint. The less smell is, the more desired the paint. LOW VOC is always an environmental theme.

Based on all considerations either from customer or painters, DULUX Wash&Wear could live up to our expectations. From my experience, I would like to say this paint is pretty amazing and in particular, the DULUX Wash&Wear LOW SHEEN which provides us with a rubbery covering and easy sanding. Among all shine levels, say Flat,Matt,gloss,semi-gloss, my experiences tell me the classic low sheen paint is most reliable because of the perfection combination of pigment and sticky substance. Actually, Taubman’s Endure and Wattyl’s ID are also very popular paint lines. However, in my opinion, the former is more than enough hard and the latter is a bit weaker at clinging so DULUX WASH&WEAR could still not be a second choice to me.
